OK folks, here we go.
Keep away from crowds, Wash your hands while singing Happy Birthday twice. No touching! Or shaking hands. Or hugging. And if for some reason, you forget and do any of those things, for heavens sake, Don’t Touch Your Face! Social distancing, it’s certainly something I have never done before.
But, I’m willing. If I set my mind to it, I believe I can do it. Whatever I can do to help flatten the curve. Trying my best to make sure that as many as possible stay well and healthy.
It’s especially do-able if you have a passion for an activity that can be accomplished while alone.
For me? It’s easy. I curl into my sewing room, find a good audio book or podcast to stream, focus on my project and forget everything else.

I’m sending my good wishes to all of you for health and happiness, delight and joy, love and passion.
I have admired your work for a long time. You create beautiful garments. Thank you for sharing your sewing space and creativity!
Thank you Judy!
Sewing room where there’s plenty of windows. Such a welcoming space! This is my inspiration for my next sewing room.
I agree Linda. I really lucked out with my room, so many windows looking out through the trees. It’s a good place to be.
Thank you Ann for your very positive message. I am going to follow your example here in Adelaide Austr
Thanks for the wise words, Ann! It’s hard for extroverts whose therapy in these trying times is political action in the streets, but I am staying home! Still writing postcards to voters.
Glad your home business will thrive when others’ work of necessity will be disrupted.
You’re so right Judith, it might be easier for introverts to stay home. And a good reminder that some people will be in dire straights. We need to help those whose jobs are in jeopardy however we can.
I’m happily sewing on those scarves!!
Always enjoy reading your blog, even though I never respond.
Love, Becky
Thanks Becky! Sewing is the perfect solution for these times.
I’m working on quilts and textile wall art pieces – a great opportunity to use up some of my embarrassing fabric stash!
I’m with you Judith. It’s a good time to use up some of the fabric from our piles.
But it doesn’t seem to work for me. I sew and I sew and I sew and still my stash grows.
Thank you Ann for your very positive message. I am going to follow your example here in Adelaide Australia.
It’s everywhere Lorraine! We are all in this together.
Somewhat an introvert, I will take advantage of this opportunity to spend time with my fabric stash — no need for excuses to avoid going out! As my Swedish mother used to say, “always, something good comes with the bad.”
Thank you for sharing your sewing space with us, Ann. It is lovely. Stay healthy.
PS – If my actual sewing doesn’t happen as planned (oftentimes), I am always content to merely visit my pieces of fabric, dreaming of the endless combinations they could “some day” make.
Thank you Pat! Your mother was right! Silver linings and all that. Yes!
I hugged an office worker at the Dr’s office today, I need to be reminded often that’s a no no now.
Do you do any online classes?
I love your work.
I need to be reminded too Margaret. It’s so easy to go back to our regular habits!
I have never done an online class,… so far anyway.
