Do you remember this coat? I started it last May, which now seems like a very, very long time ago.
Anyway, I called it ‘Disruption’ because the grid of the plaid was covered with swirling and chaotic red lines.

Each line was a narrow bias tube of silk that I appliqued in place. The front, back, sides, sleeves and collar, it took a while.

An up close detail.

Something I love about this his coat pattern, it has a deep side pocket.

And the back.

So, there were lots of areas to cover which is why a coat started in May wasn’t finished until late August.
Although I am not loving our isolated, pandemic times, there is a bit of a silver lining; the opportunity for deep dives into time consuming projects.
A stunner, bravo!!
Thank You Betsy!
Spectacular—a musical coat!
I love it, ‘a musical coat”
Thanks Jan!
Ann, that is stunning. Thank you so much for sharing it with us. By the way, May through August seems not such a long time to have produced something with that much detail. Wow!
Thank You Pat!
Ann, this is beautiful and no one else will have this. I love to make and wear something different. Thanks for sharing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You are so very welcome Marion! I agree, making something different is so rewarding.
