Spring forth

March 27, 2011

This is how it feels here in Portland. The branches are still pretty bare. The colors are all those lovely browns; flax and mocha and mushroom and bark, coffee and chocolate. Together they sound like winter.

On top of it, we’ve had a rather damp spring, cool and wet.

But warm days are sure to come and with them, color.

I admit, some trees are in flower, lovely pinks, the colors of this blouse. My daphne is going full blast.

We’re still away off from the cherry blossoms, there is only the slightest hint that something might happen with the tiny buds on my favorite tree in the backyard.

Before too long it will warm up and we’ll have our glorious spring and then it will be summer and get hot, hotter, too hot and I’ll think back and wish for the cool days we’re having now.

Nina’s jacket and two blouses for mix and match.

I want each piece to flatter and enhance the body it adorns.”
