I fell in love with the blue and white shibori silk in the picture above. Shibori, that supreme version of tie-dye. This one was folded first. Then, only the very edge was dipped into a dark blue dye. Unfolded this beautiful design appears.
So, I thought, I’ll make that design too, only sewn.
My pieced homage, on the top, the original, on the bottom.
But, as you see, the pieced version wasn’t quite right. It needed the randomness of the dye leaking and spreading at the corners.
For that, I’ll add beads. Little sparkling bits adding their own kind of spread.
