Fitted Mosaic III

September 8, 2013 2 Comments

fitted mosaic 1stDid you ever find a jacket that just worked for you in every way? Except that you wanted it for your winter coat so you asked the artist to keep the silk but use a heavy wool for the sleeves and sides?

fitted mosaic 1st detAnd you did wear it as your winter coat, year after year, until it was so shredded that it looked like the cat got at it.

fitted mosaic 2ndSo you wrote the artist and even though she had not been making that style for several years, she said yes and made you another.
Then you wore that one too until it was worn and tattered.

fitted mosaic 3rdAnd so, 14 years after the first, you contacted the artist again and asked her to make you another one. And of corse she said yes, because how flattering is it to make something that is so well loved?

fitted mosaic 123Because when you find something that works, stay with it!

My Fitted Mosaic jacket, pieced silk and wool. Except for trade in, no longer in my line.

Interesting how much more durable the wool is than the silk. I bet the owner feels like a finely set jewel when she wears this. No wonder she keeps ordering them.
