Usually after a show I spend some time on special orders.
It’s custom! Because I make each and every piece I can adjust for each individual person.
This jacket needed to be one size smaller and the right sleeve needed an extra half inch. I’m almost finished with it, only buttons and hems for the sleeves.
One size up for this one and 2 inches less for the sleeves. I’ve just started to cut it out. The fabric is amazing, a beautiful old kimono silk.
See it? It’s a design of old Japanese house interiors; walls, screens, ladders, lanterns and teapots. So cool.
An oh so beautiful hand painted kimono silk, pieced with bright red stripes. The facing is shibori [you remember: shibori is Japanese tie dye]. It’s almost finished, so close, just buttonholes and buttons.
Then it will look like this one. Only different, because the new one for Sharon will be 3 inches longer.
