A Last Look

March 9, 2013 4 Comments

2013 Shard red and cream coat
One last look at some of the coats and jackets that I brought to the ACC Baltimore Craft Show. Gone but not forgotten.

A long coat, the last time you saw this it was in pieces on my floor. Finished! And moved onto a new life.

2013 animal print meisen trench
No, it’s not out of focus, it’s meisen, the amazing Japanese rewoven fabric that has that cool soft edge. Amazing. This one looks like an animal print.

Meisen Trench.

2013 forest jacket
Another very cool fabric, a forest of trees. I added glistening beads scattered through the branches.

2013 beaded stream coat
A beautiful brocade, a very Japanese rushing stream.

2013 beaded stream coat det
With many beads, stitched to emphasize the swirling waters.

beading, jackets, kimono silk, piecing, trench coats

Beautiful work, Ann, they really are pieces of art! That brocade, highlighted with beads, is sublime.

Enjoyed the segment on Oregon Art Beat featuring your beautiful textile artistry. May I make a few suggestions for your website? A Gallery of All the pictures of your garments throughout your site, gathered in one section would be wonderful. Also you might want to consider social media beyond your blog, to garner more interest. Facebook would especially be advantageous as fans could “share” photo’s of your current works with others.
    Just something to consider!
As a mother of the groom, I hope to be contacting soon regarding a fall/2014 wedding. How long in advance is recommended?

Yes! Social media, Facebook and Instagram and, and, and! All important ways to connect with people. Definitely on my to-do list.
My schedule can vary, I’m often booked months out. For a specific date, I recommend contacting me 3 to 6 months before an event, especially for a custom, special occasion piece.

I love your designs. When will you be in Southern California?
    Thanks Cynthia
