I have several piles of color coordinated rolls of kimono silk ready to be pieced together into jackets and coats. Yes, ready to go, but not yet begun.
However, I am happy to report that two coats are finished and photographed.
This pretty green one ended up having the feeling of a landscape viewed from above. Something I had not planned on but am very happy with.
I have some gorgeous matching silk crepe that needs to be sewn into pants? a skirt? a blouse? Something absolutely needs to be made to go with this coat.

The one below, after a blank mind and no ideas, I named it ‘Orange, Pink and Red with Purple.’
A bright, happy piece all about color.
These pieced projects are so much fun to do. It’s sort of like painting with water colors. I have a general idea of where I want to go but the process itself has its own input. Sometimes it feels as though I’m following along, trying to keep up with what’s happening. It’s not just me making the decisions, I’m collaborating with the fabrics themselves.
Also, the holidays. They are coming!
I’ve been adding to and rearranging my web-shop. Including some new blue scarves like this one in navy and white.
You know this, unless very tiny, I do not throw away my scraps. Instead, they are saved and pieced into new work.
