I’m in the middle of two new coats. The best part? Enough time to really dig in and take my time. Before I left on my trip, I laid out my schedule so I would have the luxury to spend time working on new pieces. Which turned out to be a very good idea! I’ve been deep into it, adjusting, switching, changing until I felt that they were saying what I wanted. No worries about hurrying up and finishing by a certain date. What a treat.
Both have a pieced base. That is, I cut and sewed the first layer. Then on top of that, I added appliquéd shapes emphasizing my designs.
I am still very much in process with both of them. These photos show them on my wall, pinned and ready for the appliqués to be basted in place.
This one is all about falling. The ground underneath is unstable, parts are slipping off and tumbling down.
The next is about breaking apart. There is a fissure down the center and the pieces are cracking off and flying away.
