What a spot for a show! Every August the American Craft Council produces a show at San Francisco’s Fort Mason. It’s a former army base, now a cultural center, located right on the bay.
With sailboats! And seagulls!
And guys fishing!
The American Craft Show was in Festival Pavilion. Originally a storage facility for the army, it’s a large building over the water on a pier.
And inside, a huge open room. Perfect for a craft show.
At the far corner, my booth. Here, set up and ready for the show to start.
And people came and tried things on and found jackets and coats and pants and skirts and scarves.
And I was running and helping and writing up orders.
And, well, not taking many pictures.
Though I do have this one. She’s checking out my new work, wearing the jacket she ordered last time.
Well, this one too. A cute dog! Everything stops for a cute dog. Adorable Gordon.
SO sweet!
And at the end of each day, I’d walk back to my car, along the marina, next to the sailboats, towards the Golden Gate Bridge.
See it? Shrouded in fog.
It’s San Francisco, it’s August and it’s cool and foggy.
I love it!!!
Wow, Ann, what an amazing venue… and your display looks fantastic. I’d say your show must have been successful if you were afforded no time for picture-taking. Gorgeous jackets, real works of art!
