Last August my absolute favorite artisan weaver, Randall Darwall, handed over an armload of his gorgeous hand-woven scarves for me to use as the raw material for my clothes. The most wonderful surprise was how well my kimono silks complimented his subtle colors and weaves. They looked like they had come from the same design studio. Amazing!

My first collaborative piece was a beaded top with a sheer kimono silk for the sleeves and bodice. What an fantastic experience to use Randy’s fabrics! They add whole new dimension to my work.

A detail, so you can see the glistening blue/black carnival beads. This blouse along with other collaborative pieces [as well as all my kimono silk jackets and separates] will be on view at the Craft Boston Show, April 9-11.
