A thimble on my finger, task lights on, supplies nearby and my head down, I’ve been spending my time appliquéing skinny bias tubes onto a beautiful and sheer kimono silk. Stitching them in place with pretty, sparkly beads.

Ann, do you use ribbon or are you making your own tubes? Would you be ok if I tried to copy your ribbon design on my shirt pattern?
Hello Anne! I don’t use ribbons, I use bias tubes of silk organza. I cut a bias strip of silk organza, about 3/4 inch width. I fold it in half, sew along the edge, turn it and iron it flat. Ribbons might work, but they don’t bend and mold to the fabric like the bias tubes.
