This coming Friday, February 20th! It’s the first day for the American Craft Council’s Baltimore Craft Show.
I’m finishing up a few last pieces, then packing them up and flying from Portland, across the country to Baltimore, Maryland.
A few examples of the recently finished pieces I’ll be bringing to the show.
A full skirt, sewn from an amazing ikat with white and red squares on a black background. For a little more pizzazz, I’ve pieced in skinny red stripes.

A detail shot to show off this gorgeous fabric and a peak at the red strips I added.
What is it about black and white? So graphic. I fell in love with this shibori fabric, it looks like pathways across an open field.
As a nod to the black, white and red theme, I lined it with a wild patterned red silk. The lining design looks like a smaller version of the shibori on the outside, it has black lines wandering through a red field.
How about this amazing kimono silk? Giant metallic swirls of what reminds me of some sort of cosmic occurrence, galaxies forming or comets hurtling through space.
The back.
The one below has a similar color way, black with greenish gold metallic threads woven with this scribble design. I added beads.
And more beads.
And then I looked at it and decided it needed more beads.
