After several weeks of free time sewing up personal projects; new tee-shirts! reline my favorite winter coat! shorten too long pants! All the little things that had piled up in the corner of my sewing room, whispering, … ‘fix this,’ ‘make this,’ ‘adjust as pinned.’ At last, I’ve silenced them. They have been taken care of, finished, done.
I am on to new projects! Back to my all my gorgeous kimono silks that had been sitting and waiting patiently.
As of now, there’s not too much to show. You’ll have to use your imagination. Instead of jackets and coats, there are piles of fabrics and patterns on my floor.
This one has been cut out and is ready to be assembled. Red cranes!
On my shelf are projects in waiting. Most are still uncut fabric, ideas only. Except for the green on top. It was started months ago and finally, all hand appliqué is finished. It’s ready to be sewn into a coat.
You’ve heard it a million times, you agree, you know it’s true, but somehow times slips by. It’s this: every now and then, you need to take a break. It is an excellent way to regenerate, to find your energy and to get moving. I am happy to report that I did it! I stepped away and took a breath. It worked! Ideas are flowing.

Also, in honor of today. My first textile project, a gift for my mother.
A neighbor offered a sewing class for children and this was my project. On an old wash cloth, I embroidered a lady.
A little worn, stained and for a while anyway, held together with scotch tape [see a remnants along the bottom edge.]
