A few jackets that were photographed but didn’t make it to the blog.
Now they’ve moved on to new homes, so it’s one last look.
A jacket sewn from a gorgeous kimono silk. Covered with an oh so cool pine needle and branch design, accented with little red dots.
I appliqued skinny bias strips to emphasize the branch lines and black squares for punch.
I see a pine theme here, one of my favorite designs.
The jacket below was pieced from the silk of an old kimono.
I love the crooked bent branches contrasting with the overlapping, lacy lines from the needles.
And for pizazz, scattered gold pine cones.
No pine needles here, just gnarled branches.
I’ve appliquéd over with curving white swooshes and red squares.
A closer look.
ALL oh so exquisite!!
Beautiful as usual.
I love the pine and branch theme. Thank you for sharing these facets of Japanese lore with us.
