This week I’ve been making a “Loop” jacket for Janita.
First I cut silk organza into narrow bias strips.
Then I sew them into tubes,…..
I turn them with a tapestry needle, no special turning equipment needed.
One is turned, one is in process, the rest are waiting.
The strips are stretched, pinned and ironed flat.
The ironed strips are long, flat and malleable, like cooked linguini.
Then the fun part, pinning them in place.
After they are placed just right, I sew, sew, sew.
My website has pictures of several loop jackets, including the very first image.
Thanks so much for sharing your work. It is so inspirational. Even though my style is quite different, your work gives me ideas. It also gives me encouragement to keep going…
